Go Back to the Light in Winter Homepage

This week was the tenth anniversary of the passing of one of our truly unique and outstanding minds, fellow Ithacan Carl Sagan. At the beginning of our year at LIW, we tried to get back to basics, and encapsulate what we’re about in one simple phrase. We wracked our brains, complicated things, scratched our heads, and then, there was Mr. Sagan and his elegant way of turning a phrase: “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” It struck us that that “somewhere” is Ithaca during LIW; the kernel of each LIW begins with that yearning for “something incredible”. It is the excitement and joy of the journey we take in life, each day.
